Recently, we obtained actual car pictures of the new Volkswagen Magotan from relevant channels. As a replacement model, the new Magotan has redesigned the exterior and interior and will be equipped with DJI’s newly released intelligent driving solution, providing 1.5T power and 2.0T power options. It is reported that the new Magotan will be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show on April 25.
It is reported that Marco Pavone, the current Volkswagen exterior design director, designed the new Magotan design. Combined with the exposed pictures of the actual car, the front of the new Magotan adopts a new shape of headlights and is connected with chrome strips. At the same time, the shape of the front grille and front bumper have also been adjusted, a light-emitting logo has been designed, and the rear of the car uses a through-type taillight set.
The declaration information shows that the length, width, and height of the new Magotan are 4990/1854/1487 mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2871 mm. For reference, the length, width, and height of the Magotan currently on sale are 4866/1832/1479 mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2871 mm. In comparison, the length of the new Magotan has increased by 124 mm, the width has increased by 22 mm, and the height has increased by 8 mm, while the wheelbase remains unchanged. At the same time, the new Magotan offers 17-inch and 18-inch rim options.
The interior of the new Magotan is equipped with a floating central control screen similar to the ID. family style, and is designed with a co-pilot screen and a pocket-type shift mechanism. It is reported that the new Magotan will be upgraded in terms of intelligent technology and will be equipped with DJI’s newly released intelligent driving solution.
Previous declaration information exposed the specific parameters of the new Magotan high-power version of the 2.0T engine and 1.5T engine, with maximum powers of 162 kW and 118 kW respectively. For reference, Magotan on sale offers 1.4T engine and 2.0T high/low power engine options.
Magotan is positioned as a mid-size car, in the same class as Accord, Camry, Passat, and other models. Combined with sales data, Magotan’s annual sales in the past year were 196,999 vehicles.
