JETOUR T-X is unique in China’s SUV market. Its square box shape is full of wildness, but it is more suitable for urban driving. According to current information, the overall appearance of the JETOUR T-X Extended Edition remains highly consistent with the original version. It is still a square box shape, with a wide surround, roof rack, external spare tire, and iconic grille, showing obvious Hardcore style. But after the C-pillar, this new car has been significantly lengthened. It is expected to be more than 5 meters long, reaching the level of medium and large SUVs, which is a lap larger than the Highlander. However, the wheelbase is not expected to change and will remain at 2800mm. At the same time, the extended version is expected to provide a third row of seats, making it a 7-seat SUV with a 2+3+2 seating layout.
There is high credibility for the launch of the extended version of JETOUR T-X. On the one hand, the success of ДЖЕТУР Voyager provides an opportunity to launch derivative models; on the other hand, domestic demand for three-row, seven-seat SUVs is still strong, so launching an extended version is a logical move. Judging from the response on the Internet, I believe that many people will still like this product. After all, Land Rover Defender has done something similar before, launching models of different sizes. The JETOUR T-X, which is similar in appearance, seems to have such plans.
However, it should be noted that the power system of the JETOUR T-X Extended Edition may continue the existing 1.5T and 2.0T, although, for such an SUV over 5 meters long, these power systems may only meet the needs. However, considering the cost issue, it is not realistic to hope to increase the price through lengthening. In the future, hybrid systems may be considered. Additionally, a lengthened vehicle may affect off-road performance, especially if not optimized. However, given that JETOUR T-X itself is biased towards light off-road positioning, consumers do not buy it expecting it to be capable of extreme off-roading. On the contrary, the extended version with 7 seats is more suitable for long-distance travel, so more attention may be paid to comfort and stability on paved roads. Therefore, even if the off-road performance will be discounted, from the perspective of consumer demand, this new car is still likely to become a best-selling product.w
