The BYD Destroyer 05 is the first sedan under BYD Ocean Network and also the first model in the warship series. Below, I will provide a detailed
introduction to it from four aspects: exterior, interior, powertrain, and driving assistance.
The Destroyer 05 adopts the design concept of “ocean aesthetics”, and the design inspiration of the large front grille comes from the ripples of
the waves, integrating with the visually impactful “starship headlights”. The side design adopts a sliding design, with smooth lines and a
dynamic appearance. The body size is 4780/1837/1495mm, with a wheelbase of 2718mm, providing spacious interior space. The overall shape of
the tail looks more complete, and the through type tail lights even when lit up appear unique.
The interior of Destroyer 05 also adopts a “marine aesthetic” design, with a simple overall shape and a strong sense of hierarchy in the
center console. The combination of a large floating central control screen and an 8.8-inch LCD display creates an excellent sense of technology.
The entire series is equipped with intelligent voice interaction system, BYD intelligent cloud service, 4G network service (top of the line 5G network
speed connection), in car Bluetooth, in car Wi Fi, in car karaoke and other entertainment systems, as well as OTA remote upgrades. The seat
design adopts an integrated seat with a sporty feel, enhancing driving comfort.
The Destroyer 05 adopts a DM-i plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor. The maximum output power of the
engine is 110 horsepower, and the peak torque is 135 Newton meters. The drive motor is divided into two versions, with maximum output power
of 180 horsepower and 197 horsepower, and peak torque of 316 Nm and 325 Nm, respectively. The EHS hybrid system integrates dual motors,
dual electronic controls, and a dedicated hybrid gearbox, paired with DM-i dedicated power blade batteries. The engine thermal efficiency reaches
the industry-leading 43.04%, which can achieve pure electric green city travel and keep the engine in the optimal working efficiency range at all speeds.
The Destroyer 05 is equipped with the DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system, which was launched by BYD Intelligent Connected Center
and integrates functions such as DiDAS and DiTrainer. DiDAS includes automatic emergency brake assist system, forward collision
warning system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning system, etc., providing comprehensive protection for travel safety.
DiTrainer Coach Mode: This system can “observe” and “understand” the driver’s behavior, timely remind the driver to activate or adjust advanced
driving assistance functions based on external conditions obtained from sensors, and provide two-way selection between the driver and the “coach”.
